Present Moment Mindfulness & Yoga
Hello! I’m Alyson Phelan, a dedicated 500-hour Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT 500) with a profound commitment to the practices of mindfulness, yoga, and meditation. Alongside my yoga certification, I am a Certified Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher & Coach (CMMT&C) and a Trauma Responsive Care Certified (TRCC) provider, further enhancing my expertise in the wellness field. My dedication to these disciplines is acknowledged through my status as a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP).
For almost three decades, I’ve immersed myself in the transformative world of mindfulness, yoga, and meditation. Born and raised in Cleveland, I’ve extended my influence beyond my local community to the national stage. My articles about mindfulness are published regularly in Taste for Life, a monthly natural wellness magazine distributed to approximately 1,000 natural products stores and co-ops nationwide. I also am a guest blogger for Mindful Living at https://tasteforlife.com/blogs/alyson-phelan.
My passion lies in sharing the benefits of mindfulness, yoga, and meditation within our community, especially now when they are needed more than ever. I’ve been an active volunteer with organizations such as Lake County NAMI, The Lake County Jail, and the Lake County Suicide and Prevention Awareness group. My work also extends to partnerships with Torchlight Youth Mentoring Alliance, Crossroads Health, the Girl Scouts, various churches, and local groups.
My goal is clear: to integrate mindfulness, yoga, and meditation into both individual lives and as cornerstones in organizational functioning. I am committed to making these simple yet powerful practices accessible to everyone.
I specialize in helping others overcome challenges such as stress, overwhelm, and burnout, and in finding balance and centering themselves through mindful self-care and foundational meditation practices. I am particularly interested in adjunctive trauma-informed services and grief support, recognizing the heavy impact of trauma and grief in our community.
In my work, I strive to help individuals experience a sense of safety, connection, and empowerment. This is achieved by balancing the nervous system and integrating body and mind for healing through yoga, mindfulness, and meditation, using scientifically validated and time-tested methods.
At Present Moment Mindfulness and Yoga, I am on a mission to help others return to their center. How we connect with each other and ourselves is crucial. I am here to support your personal and professional growth so we can thrive together in the here and now.
