Please! Not another blog on self-care…I know right?! It’s the busy holiday season and adding yet another task on the To-Do List is just not going to happen. I get it! So I’m proposing an alternative.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day. We tend to rush from one task to the next in a frenetic pattern of thinking and acting and it’s inefficient and ineffective. There is a different approach – Mindfulness. Instead of thinking of self-care as a “To-Do” what if you think of it as a “How I do”?

To get you started, here are some simple tips: First, take a breath before beginning your tasks…one simple deep breath to add a pause in your day to center your mind. Second, check in with your body periodically…simple neck stretches and shoulder rolls can do wonders to center your body. Third, notice what you are doing and why you are doing it with gratitude…note the level of joy, satisfaction, or accomplishment as you move through each task to center your spirit.

That’s it! Simple, easy, and effective. Practice “How I do” today and share with me how it worked for you. I invite your comments and emails at presentmomentMY@hotmail.com or you can reach me on this website. Love, light, prayers, and peace!
